   • Setting the background and foreground colors in the GIMP
   • More about layers and the xcf filetype
   • Using Text

•Activities (preview of Lab 8)
   • Create new layers
   • Add colored shapes to an Image
   • Add text to an image
   • Save the image and it's layers in the xcf format
   • Export a flattened, merged version of the image
       to the png or jpeg format

      Photoshop and the GIMP are not drawing or paint tools, they are photoediting tools.
      That is why it is perhaps a little more difficult to paint a circle for example. So, how do you paint a circle?
